780 horsepower under the cab

Volvo FH16 780 with a 17-litre engine, I-Shift transmission, upgraded cooling and Euro 6 emissions.

1,520 mm drum, 7 knives

The chipper drum is 1,520 mm wide with a diameter of 1,100 mm. Seven re-sharpenable 218 mm knives keep the chip size even.

VorqShift — move while chipping

The machine is repositioned hydraulically without stopping the chipping. The pile stays within reach of the grapple and feeding never breaks.

VorqCab — 360-degree visibility

From the cab the operator sees the feed table, the pile and the truck at a glance. Controls are laid out for a full working shift.

VorqFlow — mechanical blower

Chips fly with exceptional force, and the mechanism is simple. No hydraulic stage in between turning power into heat.

Knife service on site

The knife lid opens quickly and knives are changed ergonomically in working position. Less downtime, more cubic metres.

Story

One machine that waits for no one

In chipping contracts the margin is decided by how much of the day the drum actually turns. Needless knife service, climbing between the truck cab and the crane, interrupting the drive and technical trouble out in the forest all come out of productive work.

The VORQ Q7.1 is built around that. The truck chassis takes the machine to the site at road speed. VorqShift repositions it hydraulically mid-chipping so the pile stays within reach of the grapple. The knife lid opens quickly and knives are changed in working position, and the machine keeps feeding well even on blunt knives, holding the chip size even.

VORQ is designed and built in Finland, in the same conditions where it is used. That also means a short distance to spare parts and service, and on-call service in Finland responds within 24 hours.
